An embodied way to resilience
Hello,
I am so glad you’re here and curious about therapy. I am Dr. Julia Kaplinska. I am licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults in all phases of life and specialize in integrative somatic therapy, trauma healing and intuition building.
My Approach and Style
My practice is based in somatic psychotherapy and a background in trauma-informed care, depth psychology, and nervous system science. My work is informed by:
Doctoral-level training, experience in a diversity of settings, and post-doctoral training with industry experts
Advanced training in AEDP and Somatic Experiencing
Integration of Somatic Inner Relationship Focusing and attachment theory into trauma recovery
Experience as a certified Yoga Teacher & mindfulness practitioner
A love for depth psychology, transpersonal and archetypal frameworks, and offering healing journeys that can take one beyond symptom reduction & into flourishing and expansion
Years of experience helping people reconnect with themselves
My style is intuitive, relational, and body-based. I draw from modalities like polyvagal theory, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness-informed practice — but our work is never one-size-fits-all. I attune to your system and pace, helping you track your own internal signals of safety, truth, and readiness. I believe that each person is inherently resilient. I see therapy as a tool to help you connect with your own resilience, get to know yourself deeper, learn new skills, change habits you have outgrown and address blocks that may be preventing you from experiencing the life you’re wishing for.
I bring warmth, steadiness, and respect for your complexity — and I hold space for the parts of you that are still unsure or protective, even as you long for change.
What to Expect in Our Work Together
While I do offer traditional talk-therapy, this isn’t a talk-only space. Together, we’ll slow down enough to notice the cues of your nervous system — breath, posture, sensation, emotion — and begin to relate to them with curiosity instead of fear.
You might learn how to:
Regulate your stress responses more effectively — to feel grounded & energized
Identify and soften patterns of hypervigilance or collapse — and be able to recover more quickly
Reconnect with your body's signals of yes/no/stop/go — so you feel agency, integrity and self-trust
Cultivate a inner relationship of interest, curiosity and compassion — so no part of you has to feel ignored
Discover your inner resources and intuitive knowing — so you can weather any storm
Move from survival mode into embodied choice
The work can be subtle but powerful. Over time, many clients report feeling more alive, resourced, and deeply themselves.
When I am not working I love to spend time with my family, cook with lots of color, practice yoga and meditation, head to the beach, snuggle my kitty Lotus, break into dance on a drop of a hat, and see live music with friends. Recently I began exploring Shamanic practices for personal growth. I love reflecting on ways I can effectively integrate professional trainings and all my experiences as a fellow human into work as a clinical psychologist. Authenticity and coherence lead me along my own embodied way.
More About Embodied Way
At Embodied Way, I offer a deeply relational and experiential approach to healing—rooted in somatic therapy. My work is based on the understanding that trauma, stress, and attachment wounds live not just in the mind, but also in the body, shaping how you feel, think, and relate to others. Through attuned, body-based interventions, we work together to help your nervous system shift from states of overwhelm or shutdown toward greater regulation, vitality, and capacity for connection.
I integrate Somatic Experiencing® (SE) and Somatic Inner Relationship Focusing to help you safely reconnect with your body’s signals, release held survival responses, and access a deeper sense of inner steadiness. While the body is central in our work, the process is always held in a secure, empathic, and deeply relational therapeutic space—because healing happens most fully when we feel seen, understood, and supported. I believe each person contains within them a universe of experiences, meaning and potential. My goals is to get to know the multidimensional you and help you hold yourself with the same nuance and grace.
My therapeutic style also draws from AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), which helps clients access core emotional experiences and transform them through safe connection; attachment theory, to repair relational patterns at their roots; and depth psychology, incorporating archetypal, existential, and transpersonal perspectives for meaning-making and growth. My background as a yoga teacher and training in mindfulness practices also support the process, offering grounding tools and ways of cultivating embodied presence.
Whether you are healing from complex PTSD, navigating the impact of early attachment wounds, simply want symptom reduction or seeking a deeper sense of wholeness, our work together is about restoring the natural rhythm of your nervous system and helping you feel more alive, connected, and at home in yourself.
I work especially well with therapists, healers, artists and highly sensitive people seeking skillful support, depth, clarity, and embodiment.
